5th of January 2013

The first Saturday of the year finally decided to pay everyone a visit today. And what a Saturday it was! I honestly thought before I dozed off and went to bed last night that the only real exciting thing that I would get up to today, would be if I had decided to finally roll out of bed, and maybe... if I wanted to make any effort... to go into the city to see the 6 storey duck within Darling Harbour. Even when I contemplated it, I thought it would be best to wait until work on Monday to enjoy during my lunch break.

When I awoke this morning, I noticed I received a text message from my friend Jia inviting me to the movies. She's been asking this of me for a while, but with the holiday season we were never able to find time. And today was the perfect opportunity to go to the movies. I then rolled out of bed to find out that mum was making pikelets which all three of us gobbled down with our coffees.

I made it to Mt Druitt station, and after I walked through the ticket gets I started to look through my bag to find where my headphones were. Would you believe it? Something that is usually in my bag constantly wasn't there! Oh... my iPod was, but left the headphones back at mums place. It really annoys me when this happens! Anyways, while I was searching through my bag, a woman about the same age of me walked up to me and said:
"Did you see that? I put my ticket in and instead of the gate closing behind me, it stayed open long enough to let the woman behind me just walk through! Isn't she lucky? It could've closed right between her legs!"
I nodded with a smile, and before I could reply with "I see it happen all the time going to work," she quickly added:
"Lucky for me I keep my legs closed 24/7! Not like her! I bed she leaves her legs open 24/7! Haha! That was a funny one wasn't it?"

I just kinda chuckled and walked away... quickly!

Anyways I met up with Jia at Parramatta, and we both decided to see the movie Les Misérables. Since the movie started at 2pm, we quickly had lunch to pass a bit of the time than headed off to see the movie. Once inside the theatre, we both noticed someone was already sitting in our seats and so not to be bothered with it we just moved a couple of more seats up. Until a bunch more people arrived, and we got to shoo away the person who was sitting in our seat.

The movie was fantastic. I had already braced myself knowing that it was a musical and that all the lines within the movie would be sung, but the movie blew us both away. I personally wasn't really looking forward to Russell Crowe singing, but after a while I stopped cringing and actually listened and it wasn't half bad (http://www.spotlightreport.net/slider/gritty-realism-that-dazzels-les-miserables-movie-review). What annoyed us both throughout the movie though, was that there were a few people within their 20s who kept laughing at the more serious part and started to exclaim things like "Well that escalated quickly!". But annoying children aside, it was very easily to block them out and pay attention to the movie.

After the movie we both parted our ways headed home and got to see Howard (my yellow canary) bathing himself in some very cool water. So a big filled day and lots of memories to be had. And I'm slowly am realising that this blog is becoming more of an online diary than a take a picture and comment on it situation. Then again, I'm not the type of person to censor myself... so be it.

There was also a couple of pictures which made me chuckle today which I'd thought I'd share. Another couple from failblog.org which, if you understand will make you chuckle as well :)
