2nd of January 2013

The first day of work was today, and since I had already spent a week with Gerroa I really didn't feel like going back to work. I somehow managed to drag myself out of bed and make it to work on time.

I guess the first day of work for the new year - especially after a few days off and just after the holiday period -  no one really feels like going back to work during this time of the year.

So focusing and reminding myself about my new resolution for the year, I decided to focus on the positives around me instead of the negatives. Believe me this is so hard to do. I self studied a lot of psychology, including micro expression (yes it isn't just a TV show) so I tend to notice a little more than most people. Over the years I've also tried to ignore it cause it can be a little hurtful at times to. Which is another big reason why I am trying to see the good in a lot of things.

So for the first day back at work there were a lot of great things that did happen today - despite my overworked imagination thinking that everything crumbled while I was gone. Got to meet a great friend on the train, didn't get as many emails as I expected and also my 'Dexter Plant' didn't die while I was gone either.

There were also some left over Christmas Crackers from two years ago which we found and wondered why we didn't use. Till we opened one of them and realized that all the jokes where in Danish! I kid you not. The one we opened had this inside:

Det er host i Edens hage. Plutselig kommer et fikenblad virvlende.
Eva Utbryter: - Se, Adam, en usynlig mann!

Which loosely translates (according to Google Translate:

It is host to the Garden of Eden. Suddenly a fig leaf swirling.
Eva Antitheft: - Look, Adam, an invisible man!

Anyways I'm ranting on a bit here. the other most enjoyable thing that did happen today was having lunch with my work friends. They're very great and awesome people and I thank my lucky stars that they are around to keep me sane - well... they can be as crazy as I am if not worse!
