16th of April 2013

When I woke up this morning I noticed that it had been raining all night and as well as this morning. I was a little excited as I would have to wear my red gum boots for the first time to work! Looking at them I felt a little silly and thought that I really shouldn't be out in public wearing these. But I managed to finally convince myself that it was a great idea and that who ever thought that I was silly, doesn't know that in fact that I was silly. I also had to prepare some clothes as I would be going to a party right after work. But I also had an interview which I had to be at from 4pm, so I let me friend know who I catch the train with that I was running a little bit late, as I had started to head off to the bus stop in my shiny new gumboots, only to realise that I had completely forgotten to bring with my my usual work shoes and had to make the trek back home.I also let her know that it was probably a good idea as I was wearing the red gum boots.

I got into work a few minutes late, since I caught the later train. I received a few comments from work friends about my shiny red gum boots, and was told that it was a great idea to wear them to work with all the wet and flooded streets about. So I felt a little proud of them. In fact I had contemplated on wearing my think blue coat to work as well, but feared that I would have looked too much like Paddington bear and decided against it.

Throughout the day we ended up hearing about the bombings in Boston and that they weren't sure what and who had done it, and they were looking into finding the people involved with it.  A lot of people were already calling it an act of terrorism, and I guess in a way it is a form of it. But I had personally thought that it was most likely just one white guy, similar to the Oklahoma bombings.

At  11am the team heading off to a nice coffee shop where we had a fun weekly meeting where we ended up having a small meeting plus the game of squares. Though during the meeting I received a call about a job offer and had to step out of the coffee shop for a while. I was little concern about the job offer as it was for an extra position (which is casual work), and they wanted me to pay an upfront fee of about $250.00, which is for a photo shoot etc. So I thought it was a little odd, especially since they had text me offering me a job THEN told me to forget about the job and to pay for the photo shoot first. I had a bad gut feeling about it and decided against it.

Headed back to work just a little after 12 and got stuck into answering a large amount of email before lunch. We had been told that the assistant manager who was looking after a few things while the manager was away would be away for two days. Thursday and Friday due to a conference  that had been scheduled.

Not much happened through the day, and mostly because I was nervous about the interview which I had at 4pm. So at 3:30pm I packed up my desk and got ready for the interview, before heading off to World Square the offices were at. It was a little difficult finding the place, but I ended up finding it on time. It looked a little promising, more so that the others that I had and left there feeling a little confident. I then headed off to Circular Quay were I was meeting up a friend of mine before the party. We had a few hours to kill so we stopped City Extra to have something to eat before the party.

At a little after 6pm we headed over to the Cruise Bar where the party was being held. There were already a a large group of people who had started to line up. There was also a guy dressed up as a zombie walking about, and I am pretty sure it was the same zombie guy that I saw for Norman Reedus interview that was walking up and down through the crowds. The funny thing was a copy ended up pulling him a side and wanting to find out what he was doing.

Once we got in were had a pretty good time. People were playing the new Dead Island game, which looked very interesting. There were competitions to win a trip into space. I didn't enter as it mentioned the vigorous training you would have to do, and I didn't think I would be able to make it into space. I ended up seeing a guy who looked very familiar, and I don't know where I noticed him and it was bugging me the whole night and every time he walked passed. For some reason I kept thinking that he looked like one of the boyfriends that Buffy had on the TV show called Parker Abrams, and in a way he did kinda look like him... even though I knew it wasn't him. Bah! Hated when you think you know someone and you can't remember were.

At the party there was also a place where they can put some makeup on you to look like you got injured. I thought what the hell and ended up getting it done anyways. My friend Rocio ended up getting one that look like she had a shot in the head and mine was pretty gross of a big gash on my face. It looked as though that I had been stabbed on the cheek with a piece of glass, as it looked as though the piece of glass was still on my face. There was also some weird drinks which they gave zombie names to. We had one and noticed that there was a piece of lychee on the bottom of the glass which made it look as if it was a piece of brain.

Rocio put a picture of her 'wound' on Facebook which sparked one of her friends telling her off and that she should be sensitive to what had happened throughout the day. I commented on the picture and told her we were at a zombie party, which sparked off more insults to me. I thought it was pretty funny considering at no point we had made fun of people dying, we were just celebrating the release of a game.

At about 10pm we headed off home. Rocio had already taken off her 'wound', but I kept mine on. Which made a lot of people point and look at me from a distance. I even gave a couple of people a shock on the train. It was so very hard at not to laugh. Especially when people were pointing and talking to a friend of theirs in another language when you just knew that they were talking about you. I half wished that I would go to work in the morning like this, but I knew that was never going to happen. Once I got home I washed off the make up from my face and ended up crashing on my bed asleep.

15th of April 2013

Had a lot of trouble waking up this morning, as I couldn't get to sleep the night before. One of the problems with resting and relaxing during the weekend is that you have trouble getting to sleep when you need to, so you don't get enough sleep the night before. Apart from all that I managed to get ready and dressed on time and made it to the bus stop. I wont go into how my new MP3 player is awesome again, but it definitely has put a change to listening to music while I am on my way to work.

Once I got into work there was a lot of things to do this morning, especially with a lot of errors which have been popping up as of late which we have no control over. What we use to do was if it was a small error we'd fix them ourselves with not that much of a fuss, but as of late we now have to report every error and now cannot touch any of the invoices until they are fixed. But it causes a lot more work on our end and can lead to some people not being paid. So you have to weight things up and decide which is best.

Later in the morning I was told by a friend of mine that she officially had resigned today. I knew it was coming, as she had been telling me all of the previous week what she was thinking of doing. I was concerned for her as the stress of everything that was happening was not only getting to her but to a lot of other people as well. So it's no wonder that a lot of people have been leaving as of late. If I hadn't been made redundant I would be very concerned about what is going on as well.

At about lunch time she came to visit my desk to hand me a very early birthday present. I was confused at first as my birthday isn't for a month away. Which I then realised that she wont be here in a months time, as she'd be leaving next week. I said thanks and she had to hurry off. It was an owl doorstop as well as an owl card. I didn't take a photo of a card because it has personal words within it. But she had put some awesome drawings in there of stuff we've done together, and stuff that we've both experience within the past 2 years of knowing each other through work. It's one of the best cards I have ever - and most likely will EVER - receive. It put a huge smile on my face and constantly made me giggle at remembering everything that we've been through. A couple of people came up to me to see what was going on and they saw the owl.

I ended up going to lunch with Gloria and my head was filled with invoices that were driving me a little nuts, so it was a good thing to go outside and have my head cleared. When I got back to work I had received a message from a friend of mine that she was upset with my that I had disclosed something that she told me in confidence to a couple of people. I felt really bad and apologised that I had done so. But from the conversation that we had earlier in the day I had thought that everyone had known and that it was out in the open. I felt really really bad. I have this horrible trait of mine, even though I've been told it's a great trait to have. I can't lie... I mean I can joke about and pretend. But I end up laughing and saying 'I got you.' But to lie to someone in their face can't do it. I can't even say 'It's none of your business' or 'I rather not say.' It gets me into so much trouble a lot of the times, especially like today, and I end up kicking myself that I what I say can hurt someone. So it was fair enough that she was really cross at me and I felt horrible through out the day.

The rest of the working day went pretty well, apart from the fact that I felt like crap for upsetting a friend of mine and betraying their trust. So I was very glad that it was home time, but I also had an appointment in the afternoon which I stopped for. So I ended up getting home later than I usually would when I finished work. I started to message my friend that I made upset, to see if there was anyway that I could help with things, and try and repair any of the damage that I done. I ended up talking things out with her, and she seemed to be ok. But I couldn't get rid of the feeling that I had made a mess of things.

I then ended up making myself a coffee and sitting down to watch another of 'The Big Fat Quiz' and heading off to bed.

14th of April 2013

Slept in a lot again this morning, but not as much as yesterday. Which honestly surprised me considering what time I did end up going to bed last night. When I got out of bed I made myself a coffee, just like I did yesterday morning and had a quiet read outside while enjoying the sunshine once more. This time at about 10am, I received a phone call from my aunt who lives in the next street over to see if I was going to make an appearance this afternoon, and I said that I would for a few hours. I had to be there before 2pm.

So I started to do a bit of washing, as I needed to wash my bed sheets, towels and also clothes to make sure my uniforms were ready for work tomorrow. In between loads I read some more and even watched a bit more TV, but when 1pm came along and I had a shower and changed, I was glad to be walking outside to visit my aunt as the weather was fantastic today. Before I had left to visit my aunt, even Howard seem to enjoy the weather a lot as he was singing his little heart out again.
I headed over to my aunts place where another aunt of mine was there as well. We played a few games of rummy for a few hours, and during that time my cousin who lives in Canberra came over for a visit. Apparently she is visiting for a few days during the school holidays. When it came close to 5pm I had to take off to to finish some chores as I needed to get the clothes off the line before before it got dark.

I got stuck in reading again and wanted to finish reading the book before I went to bed. When it got close to midnight I finally finished off another book and was finding it hard to go to sleep. Though it may have to do with the fact that I've been relaxing and sleeping in a lot, so I decided to put on a movie to hopefully would make me fall asleep. I put on the movie Buried with Ryan Reynolds as I hadn't seen it before, and I figured that I would be so engrossed in it, trying to pay attention that I would only fall asleep which I always seem to do when I come across something very interesting at night. This time though it had the opposite effect and I was wide awake for the whole thing. Thought the movie was interesting, as it did have a different take than normal movies. It wasn't my typical movie. Thought don't get me wrong the acting in what Ryan had to use in was fantastic! The story line was a bit off, but they played with best they could I guess.

In the end I ended up just putting a cartoon which knocked me right out!

13th of April 2013

Wow... what a Saturday! I don't think I've personally had a Saturday like this in such a long LONG while! It's one of the rarest days where you make yourself a high priority. With everything that is going around, it was about time that I got to spoil myself a little bit. And there is nothing better in my books, to spoil yourself by sleeping in. I didn't get up until 11am, and I probably could have stayed in bed a lot longer.

When I got out of bed, I made myself a cup of coffee and drank it outside while I enjoyed the sunshine. I also read a book while I was enjoying my coffee, and before I knew it an hour had passed and it was already after lunch. So I had a shower and got ready and then remembered I wanted to get a facial done today and had forgotten to make an appointment. So I quickly called up to make an appointment, but unfortunately it was all booked up and I couldn't get my facial done. Not letting that burst my spirits, I still headed off to the shops via bus and take my sweet time.

When I arrived at the shops I had passed by one of those chemists which sells a whole bunch of perfume, so I quickly had a browse to see how much they were selling the perfume "Tommy Girl." I had tested it within Woolworths in the city and it smelled pretty good. But Woolworths in the city was selling it for about $80.00 and I didn't really feel like spending that much in the city. This chemist though, was selling the same perfume with the same amount of mls for only $30.00. Which really annoyed me that a brand like Woolworths could up their price by so much. Isn't there any honest companies anymore? Just seeing the price difference annoyed me and put me off from buying Tommy Girl altogether.

I made a quick stop at Priceline where I ended up being an Elizabeth Taylor perfume and also Panache which is a perfume I always did like to use, and it had been a while since I did buy a bottle. I also bought a small packet of face mask. I figured I may as well do the facial myself and at home where I didn't have to spend a lot of money, or answer a whole series of questions which I really wasn't up to answering anyways. I then headed towards Target as I needed to buy some gum boots and I had been told that Target had a large range of them for sale. Which was completely true! They had a very large range, so much so that I wasn't sure which one I should end up buying. In the end I decided to be a little dangerous and ended up buying some red gumboots.

Later on I decided to spoil myself a little more and bought myself a blue handbag. It seemed to be one of those days where I was deciding to be a little more strange that I normally am. The odd thing is too (and maybe it was the girly girl inside of me wanting to branch out) I ended up buying a Mills and Boon book for a bit of reading. Embarrassing I know! You know how many years it has been since I've read one of these things? A LOT! In hindsight I think I needed one of those girly days which I'm hoping many women like to do occasionally. If I could think of a romance movie to watch, I may have ended up watching a romance movie. Unfortunately I couldn't think of one, or couldn't think of the idea at the time, and just stuck with the romance novel.

I then headed off home, and ending up putting on my pj's with my newly bought facial mask, sitting in front of the TV watching a show which I had discovered early in the day called 'Big Fat Quiz of the Year.' It's hosted by Jimmy Carr and it happens once in the year at the end of the year. And it basically about questions about what had happened throughout the year, while also being very funny! Once the show was over I had a shower and washed my hair and got deeply engrossed into the Mills and Boom book until about... ohhh 4 am in the morning! Yes... I'm slightly nuts!... But only slightly!

12th of April 2013

One month till my birthday! I don't know why I get all excited about it, maybe because one of these days I'll actually have the ice cream cake I've been asking for so long! :-p
Anyways, just having that thought made me jump out of bed or it could have simply be because it was Friday and the end of the week. Rocio and I had also decided that after work we were going to play some aqua golf as well. It's been such a long time that I've played aqua golf, and I was looking forward to it.

When I got into work this morning, I hadn't really anything planned as I am very much up to date. So I decided that I would spend the day helping Gloria with all the invoices that she had (which was just under 500). So I doubled check with the manager to make sure that there wasn't any other emergencies that she'd rather that I help in. Apparently there were some emails which were piling up for other areas, which they may want me to help out in but would let me know later in the day.

When I started to help out with the invoices, I was told we were going to have our morning meeting outside. So once everyone was in, we headed off to a coffee shop to have our meeting. Only problem was that we were looking for a coffee shop in particular and no one knew where it was. So we ended up going to the one that was closest to us. I decided to order a toasted sandwich, but thought it was funny that they had the option of either: Toast with cheese, Toast with cheese and tomato, and Toast with cheese, tomato and avocado. There was no Toast with ham and cheese at all! Gloria pointed out that it may be a vegetarian cafe which was probably why there wasn't any ham. After we had our meeting and headed back into the office, we found out that the cafe we had original wanted to go to was just around the corner from the one we had just been in. Oh well.

Once we arrived back in the office I had my headphones on and just focused on clearing a lot of the invoices out. Before I knew it an hour went passed and we suddenly had an emergency meeting. Which was basically to tell us that there was going to be another big meeting as there was some confusion about what was going on, so the meeting was going to clear a lot of things up. Which was in a few moments anyway, so there was no point in turning around to get the invoices done as everyone went into the meeting room.

Throughout the meeting, I thought it was a little funny that the only people raising questions about what was going on was the people who made redundant. Well, all but one anyways. So technically there wasn't any real point in asking any questions. Which then made me think if this was one of the reasons why we were made redundant as we like to question things, instead of nodding out heads and carrying on. But I shook my head of it and try not to think in that way of thinking.

Once back at my desk I tried to get back in the grove of processing again, but was finding it a little difficult with all the distractions which we've had so far. So I put my headphones on and did the best that I could. Before I knew it lunch time had arrived and went and had some pasta within Darling Park. I was explaining that I find the whole looking for work a bit daunting. Mostly because of all the effort and hoops that you have to put though, and I wondered if people actually do read the cover letters that you spending hours writing and amending in hopes that it'll get you work. Only to be employed by a company who will then most likely make you redundant for cheap labour with people who most likely have no experience at all. I knew this kind of thinking was making me feel a little low again, and was thankful for Gloria in changing the subject and getting my mind off things.

Once we got back into the office I got stuck into the invoice once again, and by the time 4pm had rolled on by I managed to get the invoices down to about 250. There was only about 30 left as the rest were all errors which were logged in and there was nothing anyone could do until they were cleared from the system.

We were told after the Friday catch up in the kitchen that we all could go home early, and was thankful to leave early so I could catch another early train and wouldn't be arriving home in the dark. Once home I quickly got changed and had a small bite to eat before Rocio came over. I noticed that the football was about to start about half an hour before Rocio arrived, and they where showing a Sonny Bill Williams special before the game. Not only did they play a Muse song, but the SBW special was in the style of the Muse song, with news clippings here and there about everything he has done in his career.

About 8pm Rocio arrived with her daughter and we quickly went to get a bite to eat, which is when we so that they were playing soccer on the TV which was showing the Wanderers. They already already scored one goal by this stage. Afterwards we then headed towards Penrith the play aqua golfing. It had been such a long time that I've been here that they've changed the place a lot. We were only there for about and hour or so before we took off again. I thought I hit the ball well a few times, but nothing that actually hit any targets.

We then went to crispy cremes where I caught myself a fruit smoothie and a couple of donuts. We kept making weird faces and talking about the oddest thing. Which is when Rocio suddenly mentioned she had a bunch of old school songs, one of them being Sexy Eyes. So we headed off into the car and she played the song very loudly, and us singing along to the song, with her daughter covering her eyes feeling very embarrassed!

Once I arrived home and bid farewell, I was still in a high music mood and decided to browse my MP3 player for some awesome songs before I went to bed. Ended up coming across a song by the Living End called 'Short Notice'. Thought it was a pretty great song. Was still feeling a little wired and didn't think I could get some sleep. So I had decided to play the movie Mutant again and put the TV on sleep.

11th of April 2013

Woke up this morning in a pretty good mood, and unsure as to why as it was Thursday, and nothing really much happens on a Thursday. Once I got dressed and ready for work I headed over to the bus stop, and I remembered why I was loving the fact that I was catching the bus. I was listening to my MP3 player! I really feel like I was trapped in a cage, and now the cage door has finally flung open and I can see what I've been missing all these years! TAKE THAT APPLE! I AM NOW FINALLY FREE FROM YOU!

Caught the train with Rocio again this morning, well as I do every morning just ab, but. Was kinda hoping for a repeat of what happened yesterday, but there was no such luck. Then we got into a pretty serious discussion wondering if when you call in to say that you're late due to something happening with the trains, if your boss actually checks the Cityrail website to find out if it is true. I mentioned that I had taken a screen shot just in case no one believed me.

Once I got into work I got started on my emails right away. I knew that there wasn't much that I had to get through, as my emails were pretty much up to date anyways, but still tried to clear them as much as I could. I noticed that there was also a few emails that had been going back and forth with no resolution. There were only really two of them and I left them to much later in the day as I could. The two pain ones had been going on for a while, and with being away for 3 weeks didn't help either. So before it was lunch time, I made sure I got around to them and answered them in hopes they would go away. By that stage though I had a pounding headache and couldn't wait to get out of the office. I also have a craving for junk food which I'd hope will make the head ache go away. I think it was also on the verge of a migraine, but I've never really had one before so I can't really say. All I know was that I was very sensitive to the light and was very thankful when we sat in the dark food court with the QVB. Once we got back to work my head ache had left and I was feeling a lot better, and just thankful that I didn't have to face the annoying emails for the rest of the day.

For the rest of the afternoon I cleared a few more emails, and then helped out with invoicing for another state to help out the rest of the team. The only problem was, that my computer was really slow. To process just an invoice was taking over a minute each time. When 4pm came around I was so fed up by the slowness that I decided to restart my computer in the hopes it would help. It only really helped a little bit, but it was a least manageable and I wasn't wanting to pull out my hair.

On the way home the early train was running a few minutes late, and I was lucky enough to catch it as it was one of the express trains home. It also seem to make me feel a lot more better as I had a lovely view of the setting sun (sort of), and only really wished that I could have a better view of it.

Not much really happened when I got home, apart from me looking for more work. I forgotten how much I really didn't like looking for work. I thought that was the whole point in having a job so you didn't have to look for one anymore. Oh well. I found a handful of jobs which I sort of liked and applied for them before I headed off to bed.

10th of April 2013

Woke up this morning at a pretty reasonable time. I thought that I would be running late for the bus this morning, but I seemed to have made it without doing the 100 meter sprint and without looking like a fool as well.

When I got to the station there wasn't as many people waiting as there had been for the past few days, but that all changed when we all boarded the train. Either a bunch of people got new jobs or I really underestimated how many people really catch the train from this station.

Rocio mentioned that she had in her head for most of the day about images of Dubbo (the way that I had described) and no longer wanted to go there anymore, and that we needed to find another place to visit. She suddenly mentioned that Steve was very talkative today, and it took me a while to realise she was talking about the comic behind us. I literally did a big "OOohhhh!!" and agreed, as it seemed as though he had a friend with him on the train and was in a big discussion with him. We then burst into fits of laughter as one day, when they are talking about someone close by and they (hopefully) have no idea that we were talking about him.

Once we arrived at Parramatta, we realised that we had been stationed here for longer than usual. When we noticed people getting off the train. There was an announcement, but it wasn't on the train but was on the platform so we couldn't hear what they were saying. We did noticed that everyone had started to get off the train. Apparently there was a 'medical emergency' and everyone had to leave the train to catch another one. As this would be stopping here and not moving at all. So everyone within the whole train left and went on to platform 3! It's bad enough that the train was crowded already, but to be crowded again within Parramatta, not such a fun thing. Though one funny thing was that there was an announcement on platform 3 that said "The train which is running late, is now definitely late". Huh!?!

It took as a while to catch a train that was going into the city, as the first few trains were jam packed filled with people, and I'm a small person. I had no doubt that I would have been lost under someones armpit if we caught the first few trains. Even with me catching a later train, I was only late for work by about 20 minutes, so no real harm done, but it was a good thing that I had let them know the moment I knew something happened within Parramatta.

Within the first hour at work I had managed to clear out all the invoices which were clogging up for the past few days. The only invoices which were left had issues with them, and so I couldn't touch them anyways until they were fixed. The rest of the day I ended up clearing a few emails, and I managed to clear about 30 of them, which I was so very proud of myself. I even had a moment to help someone with a change of ownership with a supplier, but there wasn't really much to show as there were only a couple of things that needed to be done to it.

During lunch I dragged Gloria with me to a Sony electronics store. I had finally had enough of my iPod and wanted to get something to play my music that didn't wipe out all of my songs the moment that I wanted to put a few new songs on there. So I managed to find something reasonable, and it also has a FM radio! TAKE THAT APPLE! So when I got back to work, I cleared a few more emails while also charging for the first time my new SONY MP3 player.

And I can tell you, the trip home was one of the best going home in a long time! Listening to the radio! Wow... I hadn't done that in such a long time. And the best thing ?? I put it on Triple M and they welcomed me back by played a Muse song! Wow! Such bless! I have now spent the past 20 minutes updating it with songs. And the best part about it all? I've put soo many songs, and for a 16GB memory... it isn't full yet! And even if it was, there is always the comfort of the radio to listen to once more.

MY 100TH POST!

Happy 100th post to me! I honestly cannot believe that I've reached 100 posts! I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has been reading my posts, and coming along with this journey with me every day. I honestly thought that when I decided to do this at the beginning of the year, that I wouldn't be excited to note down and take photos of what I do each and every day.

So thank you to everyone who has been reading my adventures. It is everyone who reads this little blog of mine that makes me excited to note down what I get up to each and every day.

Thank you!

9th of April 2013

With Monday over, Tuesday really slapped me awake today. I'm finding it a little difficult waking up in the morning, only because it is still dark in the morning when I'm getting ready and leaving for work. The sun is only peaking through once I make my way to the bus stop and to the train station. Every time I see the morning like this, there is a part of my brain that is trying to rationalise the whole thing and tell me that it way to early to be waking up and leaving for work.

While on the train with Rocio this morning, I asked her what was the actual point in both of us going to Perth later on, if the reason that we're going is to see the Supanova stars who are just going to be in Sydney anyways. So it looks like the whole Perth idea is cancelled and they we're just going to the Sydney one. She then suggested that we find another place were we can holiday, and the only suggestion she came up with is Dubbo. When I asked her what is in Dubbo she told me the zoo. When I pointed out that Sydney had a few good zoos she mentioned that Dubbo's zoo is one that you can drive through.

Now when someone tells me something like this, I'm pretty sure every other 'normal' brain would take that information and either say... "hmm good idea" or "hmm not a good idea". No... not my brain! My brain took that information then warped it into us driving through the zoo with monkeys' throwing their crap at our windows and lions trying to eat us alive. Which... if I recall correct... not only did I say this, but pretty much acted it out on the train. Which also apparently received a few tiny laughs on the train which I didn't end up hearing.

So while on the train to work, not only was I in tears of laughter, but I also had a very sore back from laughing so much and my face had tear streaks all over it from crying of laughter. I can only imagine what everyone else on the train was thinking!

Once I got into work, I pretty much got stuck right away into the invoices to make sure that they were making at least some progress and I was removing a lot. Which was a little difficult as a lot of the invoices had errors within them. Between all of this I was receiving and sending emails to Rocio with pictures of lions. She also mentioned that she's decided to call the guy who reads comics and plays games on the train will from now on be called 'Steve'... "because he looks like a Steve!"

Our team then had a meeting to catch up on a bunch of things, mostly because Gloria and I had been away and we needed to catch up on a few things had that changed over the weeks. Nothing major, but still good to catch up on as I was feeling a little lost for a bit there.

For lunch I had been invited by the team I had help to join them to a restaurant within World Square to eat some Dumplings, which I've never tried before. Which were very very yummy! The funny thing was, is that they sat us by the aquarium (well where the fish which would be eaten swam for a bit). Every time they took a fish to be cooked, I kept on pointing out that the rest of the fish looked really upset. It had been pouring with rain to the restaurant as well, so one of the girls shared her umbrella with me.

The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly, but when it was time to go home I pretty much dashed off as I was trying to catch the early train. Didn't work though as I had missed it by about 30 seconds. When I had got home mum made raviloi, which is one of my favorite meals of all. After dinner I started completing my resume and also applied for a few jobs as well.

Before I went to bed I also cleaned Howard's cage for him and made it all nice and shiny. I swear when I was finished she tweeted a bit as if to say "it's about bloody time". I then watched the Rifftrax version of Jurassic Park, and it's another really good funny riff which had me laughing a lot before I passed out asleep!

8th of April 2013

Woke up this morning a little bit hazy, but I was determined to wake up and get a good start on the day. Mostly because I couldn't use being sleepy as an excuse, as due to daylight savings I've just had an extra hour to sleep in. So I got up and made myself a coffee, and while I waited for it to cool I had a shower and got dressed. Mum has the early shift this week so she was also fluttering about while I was getting ready for work. Before I left for the bus stop I quickly checked my ticket to make sure that it was still valid for today - which it was - and trotted off to the bus stop.

If you don't catch the bus on a regular basis, then maybe some of you may not understand this so I'll try and explain it to you as best as I can. While you are walking/running/skipping to the bus stop and there is no one around you, you make sure you walk as quickly paced as you can to make sure that you are on time and not miss the bus. If you ever see someone either walking ahead of you to catch the bus or you notice within the distance that someone is already waiting at the bus stop, then you slow your pace down to a steady pace. Of course this can backfire at the best of times when both you and the person ahead of you are both late, and you notice the bus within the distance approaching, to which you then both act like total morons competing for the 100 meter sprint and run towards an oncoming bus! Which is what happened this morning, while the grass was still wet from the dew. Thankfully either one of us didn't make further fools of ourselves by slipping over or any other horrid incidents that could happen along the way.

Once I met up with Rocio at the train station, I was surprised to notice that the station was packed one again and I wasn't sure if it was because a large group of people decided that they wanted to embrace Monday morning and go to work, or they were going back home after a heavy night drinking. I couldn't smell any alcohol.

Once I got into work I was assigned a new desk, as my usual desk had a new person sitting in it and the current desk had no PC. So I went to another desk until they could manage to locate one for me, which they did after about half an hour. I also received a couple of cupcakes from one of the girls in the previous team that I had helped out as a thank you for assisting her with the tough accounts for a few weeks. Also Gloria arrived back, and we both embraced and somewhat dreaded how many invoices which we would see when we sat down in did out work. I had over 300 and Gloria had over 400.

The rest of the day went by pretty smoothly, I was trying not to stress too much about the amount of work which I had to do and only did what I could do without over doing it. I kept joking about with the other team how I had now moved up to the position of Manager as I was now sitting in the manager seat, and that I've come across along way from sitting in the assistant manager seat for three weeks!

For lunch, Gloria and I just sat down and caught up with what has been happening for the past fortnight. Especially with her now being a Mrs! She's moved into her new room, and also told me that her grandmother gave her a surprise arrival the day before her wedding. She though she was going with the family to pick up someone else, when they got out as well as her grandmother!

It wasn't long before it was home time once again, and that Monday was over for another week. Only downside with going home now that daylight savings is over, is that it is pitch black dark once I get home! I also forgotten my keys and had to wait outside for either Frank or mum to arrive from work before I could get myself inside the house.

Now I'm about to sit down and watch an episode of Game of Thrones!

7th of April 2013

Woke up a little earlier today compared to yesterday. It was 9am due to daylight savings, otherwise it would have been 10am. I had woken up early has Frank and his brother were testing the pipes around the place and trying to find out if they could make it stop making awful banging sounds every time someone either turned the tap on, or turned the tap off. Personally I hardly ever notice the pipes ever making this banging sound that they keep speaking of, and I know it is because I have got use to the noise. But Frank keeps pushing that fact that it is an annoying noise of which I cannot hear.

I then made myself a cup of coffee and tried to shake the sleepiness out of me, even though part of me wanted to go back to sleep and try waking up once again with a better result so far. Instead I plumped myself down in front of the TV and watched a couple of episodes of Married with children. Which made me recall a recent joke that Seth MacFarlane made about Ed O'Neil saying that he finally has a show to be proud of. Which I personally don't think that is true. Ok.. maybe towards the end of Married with Children that did use a lot of tongue in cheek humour. The earlier episodes though, are pretty funny!

Frank headed to my aunts place the next street over. He said it was to cut their lawn, but since discovering last week it's mostly because my aunt offers food and it's just as quick as a take away shop. I normally would have said something jokingly about this, but I was worried that he may change his mind and not go and I wouldn't have the house to myself as mum was doing her first aid certificate.

I spent most of the day catching up on the blogs which I had fallen behind in writing so badly, but I was determined to catch up so I wouldn't be behind again. Mostly because I was worried that I would forget what had happen on the days that I hadn't wrote as of yet and wouldn't know what to write.

When Frank returned later on, we both watched the movie "The Portrait of Dorian Grey." Well I watched while Frank slept on the lounge. It had Angela Lansbury in for for a while. It was a bit of a slow movie, though I did quite like it as it was in black and white and every time they went to show you the changes in the painting it would be in colour! It was a lot different to the newer version of the movie, and still seeing Angela Lansbury so very young blew me away!

I then later went to visit my aunts place as I hadn't taken down the balloons from mums birthday party as of yet, and also because she need help setting the new time on her mobile phone. When I got there it started to pour down heavily with rain, and they also got a visit from a family friend of there's who will be going back to Malta in a couple of weeks. Mum then decided to drop on by, mostly just to check up on the fact to see if I had been washed away by the thunderstorms and wet weather.

Once we got home we decided to have pizza for dinner while I drank some Maltese soft drink! I thought there was only one left and I had promised to leave it for mum, but there were two. Well... there is now one left. Afterwards I watched Doctor Who when mum and Frank finally released themselves from the clutches of the evil show they like to call the Voice. Then I proceeded to to go to bed only to watch a couple of episodes of Arrow.

6th of April 2013

Woke up very late this morning! But it's Saturday so I wasn't really concerned by waking up late. Though I must have been extremely tired to finally get out of bed at 11am! I had a lot to do today so I was surprised that even mum had let me sleep in for that long.

When I did get up I made myself a coffee and had a bit of chat with mum outside so I could slowly wake up before getting ready and dressed. Frank had headed off to the races so he wasn't about the place. When I finally woke up and had a shower and got dressed mum and I headed off to Rouse Hill as I had a hairdressers appointment. It was about time too, as it had been almost two months I think since I had been to the hair dressers and it had badly started to show.

When we got to Rouse Hill I had my hair coloured, while mum just had her hair washed and straightened. It felt like a big relief after several months of not having it coloured to make it seem a little be normal once again. The only problem that I find that happens when I get my hair coloured that it takes such a long time. I probably should maybe bring a movie next time I go! But in fact I usually bring in a book, it is just that this time that I had forgotten.

We didn't get out of their will just after 4pm and I had to head off into the city again this evening. On the way home mum had to quickly get the petrol as well as some milk and sugar. Once that was done it was already have 5pm, so I had to quickly head off home get ready then head back to the station where I went into the city.

I arrived within the UTS just after 7pm where they made us wait in a separate room than the hallway this time. Still no change room but the men's toilets, but it was a good thing that I basically already dressed in what clothes I was doing to wear within the play that night, I just didn't didn't put the full gear on just in case someone actually thought at I was part of some gang! I probably be the worse gang member ever, but I still didn't want to take that bit of chance.

Before the whole show started we did some warm up exercises which I've never heard of before. There was a game called 'bang', where we all stood in a circle and another person was in the middle twirling and pointing, and when she stopped and pointed at someone the person she points at had to duck and on either side would have to point to each other and say 'bang'. Whoever said it first won and the other person would sit out. It's actually a very fast paced game and I just couldn't keep up with it! Another one is of numbers, which I just couldn't get the rules of. But then again, this was the first time in this kind of setting, so do you really blame me getting the rules confused? ha ha.

Oh well it was a great night and there was a bigger crowd tonight than there was last night. I actually made one mistake and came out a little too early than expected. It's very hard to think quickly on your feet when you have bright lights shinning on you. But I did think a little out the square and pretended that I was a little nervous shooting someone which is why it took me so long to fire. Oh well... bygones and such.

Afterwards a group of us went out for drinks after the whole thing was over. Also had a bit of a chat about the story of the play and understand where Christina got the idea for the story to make it into the play. Was very interesting and it was nice to hear that the ideas that she had of the story were similar to that how I had pictured it.

It was long before I realised that the time was 11:30pm and I had to make a made dash to Central station before I had missed any more trains. Ended up taking a photo of how Central looked like at almost midnight, and as you can see there is quite a few people waiting on the platform. So I wasn't alone while waiting for the train. I was actually surprised that I was able to take a photo with a battery at about 4%, but I switched the app on which to take the photo, tricking the phone that I wasn't going to take a photo when I did!

I'm so happy that I got to experience such a short brief life on stage! Haha. Maybe this will be my new career! What out Hollywood! Here I come! Haha!

5th of April 2013

Was a little tired when I woke up this morning and had to quickly get up and prepare my bag with extra clothes for the play as an extra that I would be in this evening. So when everything was ready I noticed I was running a bit late so I had to grab a taxi to the station, as I wouldn't even make my usual train and would have to make the train afterwards which would make me a couple of minutes late. I even managed to catch up with Rocio on the train and she stayed back for me, even though she had an RDO and was going away for the weekend.

So when I caught the train I had my hands filled with a couple of bags and was finding it a little difficult to carry them, especially when the train started to get a bit full and I had to try and balance everything within my lap, while trying to make room for people to sit down next to me. Especially when arriving at Town Hall and trying to make my way out again. But it was Friday, so I was trying not to let things bring me down today.

Had bit of a busy day today, as it was the last day that I was helping out a different team and go back to my usual accounts and back to the work that I usually do. A lot of people were caught up this morning in going over last nights events or at least recovering from them, at it seemed as though some people had to nestle their coffee's because of their  hangovers.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly and I spent another lunch break of mine trying to find little bits and pieces of accessories. I managed to find gloves that I could add to the costume as well as some hair colour. But that wasn't really for the outfit as I've been thinking about buying them for myself a while now, and now Woolies were selling them for $7.00 each. I bought three of them and ended finding out while I was scanning them that there was a special on them. Which almost ended up being buy two and get one free.

When the work day finished I headed off to UTS where I met up with Christina and two other girls who were going to be performing in the play. What I found out that it was basically a small sketch night and that the play I would be in will go for about 10 minutes. And my roll would be just to sneak up behind someone then get shot, and I would fall down.

It was a little intense as there was no real change rooms and we had to sneak into the men's bathroom to get changed. But before we did that we had to make sure we did that before the show started as when you open the door it would squeak really loudly, and you could hear it from the stage. So not only did the bathroom smell really badly, the only other option would be to get changed within the hallway which everyone was there waiting for their turn. Even while people were rehearsing their lines, everyone would have to whisper as no one was allowed to speak really loudly. It made me wonder though with everyone being told that someone had brought in the candy 'Nerds' and started eating it from the box. For those who's never eaten Nerds while find it hard to understand, that it does make a lot of noise while trying to take the candy out from the box!

While the two girls were rehearsing I was providing them with my two cents as it seems as though one of them was having a little difficulty with her part in understanding the character. It was awesome to see them practising though. I think I would find it very hard to remember all those lines I think.

So when it was our turn to go on stage, even though I was waiting within the wings I felt really nervous. So I can only imagine how the girls who were on stage must've been feeling. So when I made my stage 'debut' and I fell down as I 'died' I heard a lot of gasps within the audience which made me kinda chuckle inwardly.

Since we were the second last act to go on stage, once the final act finished we all went back on stage and took our final bow before going off stage and saying our congrats to everyone. It was definitely experience to remember, and the fact that we were all going to be doing it again tomorrow was pretty exciting. By the time I took off and with all the train delays that were going on, I didn't end up getting home till about 12:30am and was pretty tired when I got home. Though I did manage to sneak in a couple of episodes of Arrow before I did get some sleep.

4th of April 2013

Felt pretty good when I woke up this morning. Maybe it was because it was Thursday and that if you include today, there was two days of work left for the week. It could also be that tonight there was a work party which would involve laser skirmish and also bowling which I was looking forward to very much! Another thing could be simply that a friend of mine Christina needs an extra in a play and I offered to help out on the Friday and Saturday evening, so when I woke up this morning there was a message from her saying that she'd love me to come along and be an extra. Apparently I'd be playing a drug dealing gangster. I think the fact that I said I was from St Marys may have given her a bit of convincing... I kid!

So while I was off to work I was in pretty high mood, and while explaining all this to my friend of mine Rocio I was trying to figure out what I'd have to wear as a drug dealing gangster. As apparently there are all different class types. So we started to Google for pictures to see what type of clothes I would have to wear, and ended up sending her a message to get an idea of what she would like me to hear.

When I got into work, I found out that there were not many people within the team that I was helping out that would be going to the work party tonight. Either because of kids or the fact that they weren't feeling too well and had managed to drag them selves to bed and not really looking forward to dragging a bowling ball as well.

Managed to get all the invoicing down that had piled up during the week due to an error, brought it down from over 400 invoices to 100, then back down to zero. Apparently this was the first time this sort of error happened within the company and they really do not want another repeat of it. Which I totally agree. Don't like seeing that many invoices to be processed especially since I hardly get that many at all.

During my lunch break I went shopping a little to find some accessories to wear for my little extra performance. I already had received a message from Christina saying a hooded jacket and jeans would be great and maybe some bling as well. So I ended up finding a hat and some earrings to wear to make me look a little bad ass!

The rest of the work day went by pretty quickly so when 5pm came I headed over to Darling Harbour where the work party was going to be, but since i had some time to kill I decided to read a little of my book before I met up with everyone, and it wasn't long before 6pm rolled on by and made my way to the bowling place.

It was a pretty awesome night, and since I'd never played laser skirmish before I was thankful that I had signed up for it! One of the rules was that you weren't able to run, but when people are aiming at you it is pretty hard to control yourself on not to run! The only downside is that the whole laser skirmish playing went on for only 15 minutes, and wanted it to go for a lot longer! Though with even 15 minutes of playing a lot of people had already built up a sweat from being in there.

We had a private room where all the food was for us and I managed to get into conversation with someone about Doctor Who and told them that in England that they were selling the 50th Anniversary stamps of Doctor Who which has all the faces of all the Doctors which I was looking into getting. Then I was told that he had a friend that was visiting England at the moment and would be back soon, so he'll see if they could get us a couple of stamps! So very excited about that.

At about 8pm is when we all started to play bowling and everyone was pretty excited for it to start. I had a guy in my group who thought it was pretty confident that he would beat everyone, so when I bowled a strike in my first go he was pretty shocked. But typically me in the first 5 games I was doing very great and winning a lot. I was getting either a strike or a spare, but in the last 5 games I was very lucky to hit any of the pins at all! So I ended up coming in third. Oh well... better luck next time I guess!

I met up with a couple of guys who I was suppose to catch a taxi with home, but they looked like that they were enjoying themselves a lot and I really needed to get home to get some sleep. So I ended up going home by myself instead of waiting around till they finished drinking. Plus by that stage I don't think there were any sober people around left, and I couldn't understand a single word that they were saying! Was finally great to get home and get some sleep!

3rd of April 2013

I cannot believe it is already Wednesday! Though after a 4 day long weekend and one day at work, it's no surprise that it is already the end of the week. Though it was another day of me waking up and not feel like going back to work. This time it wasn't about Sheba, it was more as though I don't know why I need to go back into work anymore. It's not long I have anything to keep me going back there, no purpose. People tend to go into work each and everyday as it'll help pay the bills, they enjoy it or just simply that they know that they have some sort of a future there. Now as much as I do enjoy going to work, it is now mostly about the social aspects of it. There doesn't seem a point to what I am doing will counter to anything good that will happen down the road.

Despite all these thoughts I did manage to wake up and get ready and meet my friend at the station to catch the train. When I explained this to Rocio about what I was going through, she mentioned that it was about time that I was having these sort of thoughts as everyone does go through this, but she thought I would at least go through it earlier and would want to leave soon enough and before the date that they have given me. I mentioned to her that even though I was made redundant before, this time it was a lot different, Mostly because there are only about 11 of us who were made redundant within the accounts side, and while I was with Vodafone and made redundant there, there were a lot more of us as there were two companies merging with one. So at least half the employees from both side would be made redundant.

Once I got into work I did feel a lot better, though I think it had mostly to do with helping another team out and having to focus on one major task instead of a bunch of different issues from different people. I even started to read a calender of a friend of mine while I was waiting for things to load, or wanted to rest my eyes for a minute or so away from the screen. There was one story about NASA and they they sent a rocket to take photos of the planet Venus, but when it took off it headed straight into the water and crashed. Apparently it was accidentally programmed that one simply because someone didn't put a "-" (minus) within the calculations. Which in the end cost NASA about 18 billion dollars that literally went into the ocean. It got me thinking though about the jobs we and everyone else has. Simple mistakes that we do can easily be fixed. Like typos people do that we simply ignore, or entering the wrong about that we can all fix once we find what went wrong. But to think that a simple typo which everyone missed could cost a company 18 billion dollars? That's a lot on your shoulder! Especially if you have to start it all up again. Plus imagine just finding out that it was a simple "-" that was missing!

During lunch I started to walk about the place and I needed a new book to read. I have hundreds but I had a feeling to go into a bookstore and start browsing around. I never rarely go into a bookstore and pick out a particular type of book. I usually go in there and have a bit of a wonder around and let the book choose me. It's amazing what you pick up when you don't look for something. I once went to Blacktown and had the urge to walk into a second hand bookstore and something persuaded me to walk into the back section where there were a lot of history books. I ended up coming across a book about victims from WWII within Malta and there in black and white was my great grandmothers name! Was really weird. I of course bought it and showed it to my mum when I got home.

This time my little wondering lead me to the Douglas Adam section and I ended up buying the book the Salmon of Doubt. Which has little excerpts of what Douglas Adams has written over the span of his life and it also has an introduction by Stephen Fry who was a good friend of his. I then ended up going into EB Games and asked them about the Walking Dead game that I heard was coming out soon and they told me that there are two games. One about the Dixon brothers and another one which isn't due to be released until early May. So I asked about the Dixon brother's game and they mentioned it was out already, so I bought that as well. Though I honestly do not know when I'll have time to play that!

The rest of the working day went by pretty smoothly, and managed to get a lot done again. There were a bit of issues with some invoices but nothing that was too over the top. So when it was time to head off home I had my book ready to read and it brought back a lot of memories. Especially reading the intro by Stephen Fry.

Once I got home and had some dinner, I ended up watching the Following. There weren't any big surprises on that. I think one of the major surprises is that they aren't showing it within Australia until after Easter which is a shame, since the season is almost over within the USA. Was pretty tired after watching the show and ended up going to bed.

2nd of April 2013

Had so much trouble waking up this morning. Especially since after a 4 day long weekend which I feel as though I could have spent so much more of my time relaxing and watching movies! Felt as though (apart from Friday) that I had spent a lot of my time running around. Then again when I woke up this morning I wasn't feeling the best, and I was actually feeling a little sad and started to miss Sheba. Probably because I had been talking about her during the Easter break as well.

It took me a lot of effort to get ready and dressed for work this morning, and one of couple of things that help me a long is that I knew that if I stayed home I wouldn't feel any better and that being at work with people who make me laugh and smile would be a lot better than being grumpy at home.

As I walked down the driveway I felt a little guilty that I hadn't been calling Sheba as much as I use to when she first went missing and started to call for her again with tears swelling up in my eyes. When I got down to the driveway I was greeted by a cat that I named "Romeo" (his real name is Puss Puss) who started to curl about my feet as if in his own way to tell me that everything was going to be ok, or maybe he was telling me that he missed her as well. So it cheered me up a little bit as I hadn't seen Romeo in months even though he lives across the road.

So by the time I headed off to the train and caught up with my friend Rocio I felt a lot better as was glad I made the decision to go to work instead of staying at home. We caught up with what we did over the long weekend, and I mentioned that I was just about to finish the zombie book and I may take up reading ago as I forgotten how much it relaxes me.

When I got into work gave a big hello to everyone and asked how everyone was doing. It is also my last week helping out the team I have been for two weeks now as their manager comes back next Monday. I'm really going to miss working with them as they've made me feel really relaxed working with them and also very welcomed. I also explained to the manager (who also loves cats) what happened to me this morning, and she nodded in understanding.

The rest of the working day I didn't get up to much as I had a lot of work to catch up as I started to receive a lot of responses for the requests that I had made last week. Plus during lunch I decided to head over to Darling Harbour and enjoy the last chapter of the book. It was a pretty good ending and it seems as though they left a lot for a second book. Ended how I thought it would. But when I headed back to work I had this feeling as though I had just woken up. I guess when any book that anyone spends a lot of their time reading, you feel engrossed into the story and also part of the world that the author created. So one you finish the book, you are suddenly withdrawn for that world that it's time to face reality once again.

Once I got home I quickly watched the last episode of the Walking Dead before I got too tired. It ended not how I thought it would end. A lot of people seemed a little disappointed with the ending, but I guess in a way if they had lived up to everyone expectations it would have been too predictable. So I'm very curious to see how everything will go within the next season. I wanted to stay up and watch the episode of The Following, but was too tired and ended up going to sleep.

1st of April 2013

Woke up this morning a little groggy, and really felt like that I really should be heading back to sleep. I didn't sleep very well last night, as I was mostly tossing and turning. So I was definitely feeling the effects from lack of sleep this morning.

I wanted to see how my little Doctor who post was doing and noticed that I had managed to get 69 likes on the page and sparked about 8 comments from it as well. I was pretty proud of myself as not everyone can say that they made a comment and got that many likes. Even if you can, I thought to myself "Achievement unlocked", which I thought was funny.

Frank left for the park near Penrith river about 11am this morning with his brother, so that they could save us a spot for the picnic that we would be having later on for lunch. I was browsing through Facebook when I saw that an NRL website made an announcement that a the player called Greg Inglis had left the team Rabbitohs effective immediately and will now be joining the Panthers. I don't usually pay much attention to the NRL news, as I usually just watch the game, but reminded myself that I should let Frank know about this once we head to the Picnic.

Just before 12, mum and I headed on over and I made sure that I took the book that I was reading with me as I was getting closer to the end. I forgotten for a while how much I loved reading book, and this book awoken me a little and reminded me how much I loved reading. I especially really liked this book as even though it was about the zombie apocalypse it mostly focused on how people survived, and how even through a zombie apocalypse, zombies aren't the worse things that you face.
When we got to the picnic, I told Frank and another guy about the news I had heard about the Panthers. They both couldn't believe it and said that I was making it up. So as I went through my phone to find the original post that had mention it, I realised that it was April the 1st which meant that it was April fools day and the both burst out laughing and told me not to shock them like that again. It then became the running joke of the day as everyone turned up.

The rest of the day was pretty quiet, and relaxing to everyone just about lazed about either sleeping, reading or having quiet chats. I realised after a while that I am not really a fan of picnics anymore, as you really don't get up to anything apart from talking and lazing about. Not many sports to play as there were a whole bunch of people about. Plus also you're there for hours doing nothing. Though it may have something to do with the fact that I kept thinking that I had so much stuff that I wanted to catch up on.

We headed off home at about 4pm and I felt so worn out and tired from doing nothing at all that we all just sat around and watched TV for a little while. Not long after that I headed off to bed. Work tomorrow!

31st of March 2013

Got to sleep in this morning, and after the big day that I had it was a good thing that I got to sleep in. I wasn't really looking forward to today, as my cousin and uncle were heading back home to Malta this evening and I really didn't want them to go back home. I couldn't believe that 2 months were up and that they were going back home. Jia had messaged me in the morning and told me she couldn't believe it either. I told her it felt like it had been yesterday that my cousin Nathalie told me that she was coming to Australia. Now she will be going home.

For most of the day of the day I didn't get up to a lot as I spent the rest of the morning as well as the afternoon playing Sims 3. With creating a new character, it was a little difficult trying to level up his career to what I had the original one at. I still think that the new expansion back is a little buggy, as I've even seen people comment about the game on the forums and complaining a lot. Though by this stage the character that I created had about 6 kids, one of them a set of twins. When the female Sims complain about him cheating they fall in love with him all over again... then have more kids. So it's pretty funny to watch.

At about 5pm mum had already dressed to get ready to head over to the airport, and I wasn't that far behind her until I saw that the movie 'The Sound of Music' was on. I looove that movie. It had just started as well, and I kept telling myself that I would start to get ready very soon, but in honestly I wanted to wait till the part when the father comes back and the kids are all soaked from the river then he hears them singing to the Baroness and then tells Maria to stay. I noticed even after watching it for about 20 minutes that there were some things that I noticed that I hadn't before. Maybe because it has been a while since I really seen it, and that I understand it a bit more now with the war going on in the movie.

After I got dressed and ready we headed to the airport to meet with the rest of the family who were also saying their goodbyes. On the way there I plugged in my iPod into the radio and just had a feel for Coldplay, especially songs like '42' and 'Yellow'. Couldn't help listening to a bit of Muse as well.

Got to the airport and had a quick quiet chat with Nathalie, and she mentioned that she really hated saying goodbyes. I mentioned to her that it wasn't really goodbye, it was more of a 'See you later.' As we both knew that either I would visit Malta again soon, and also she would come back as well. Especially with a lot of the family visiting Malta this year, she wouldn't have to wait too long to see one of us again. I also told her some exciting Doctor Who news that I heard earlier today. That David Tennant and Billie Piper will return to Doctor who for the 50th anniversary special. Which I am really excited about. I noticed one of the fan pages on Facebook asked the question "Do you think he'll be playing the real Doctor or the parallel universe one?" And I responded with parallel and I hope there will be little Doctor babies!

I then got stuck into conversation with my uncle Joe who's always been thinking about going back again to Malta and is undecided on whether he should live there or not. He looked at me and asked if I would be willing to go to Malta with him, and I responded "Just tell me when you're ready and I'll come with you."

At about 9pm we started to say our goodbyes, a lot of people had tears in their eyes and my uncle basically headed off into the customs area quickly. I was sad to see them go but not upset as I knew how much they missed everyone back in Malta. When they both headed in mum and I and a few cousins who had remained stayed back to see them walk passed the glass area as they headed towards the gate. We didn't have to wait long to see them, but we also did miss them as they were behind a couple of marines and policemen who were headed towards the gates as well. We took a couple of photos and waved goodbye. I looked about the airport and it brought a smile to my face knowing that some day soon it'll be me again heading overseas.

Mum and I then headed back home listening to Coldplay again, and mum wanted to listen to 'Over the Rainbow' by Susan Boyle. It's a different style to the usual song, but it is very good as well. Once we got home I rushed in front of the TV to watch the episode of Docotor Who which had premiered this evening, and wanted to watch it before I went to bed. It was a pretty good episode. And the episodes as of late have a habbit of reminding you about other episodes, so they bring a sneaky smile to your face when you remember and realise it. After that I headed back to bed as we have a picnic on tomorrow.

30th of March 2013

I had set my alarm for just after 8am this morning, and quickly had a shower and changed. It was my mother's birthday and I had a big surprise planned for her which she didn't know about. I was hoping to sneak out of the house unnoticed, but as I was getting ready she had woken up already. I had told her the previous evening that I had 'planned' to go shopping with a friend of mine today and would be back by 2pm. But at about 8:30am while mum and I was talking, the phone rang and it was my aunt wanting to wish her a happy birthday. I had hopped that I would pretend that I would forgotten that it was her birthday, but since my aunt call I couldn't pretend and come across mean that I had forgotten it, so I ended up giving her the present before I left.

She opened it up and it was a DVD of the movie 'Sky Riders.' I know it may seem like a silly little gift, but it was a DVD of a movie that she's been looking for about 15 years. Probably even more than that to be honest, it's just that I know she's told me about it at least once a year for about 15 years. She couldn't believe her eyes and also couldn't wait till she had a moment to watch it. Even the card I gave her I thought was pretty clever. It said "Mum you're just like a box of chocolates. Very sweet and also a bit nutty." I then had to take off quickly as I told her I was going to miss the bus, when in fact I was meeting up with my cousin who was visiting from Canberra who was going to take me shopping to prepare for the party at lunch.

I got to my aunt's place and a little after 9am and my cousin and I headed over to the shops. I had already bought some decorations the previous day, and had brought them with me. So while we were at Coles all we had to buy was just a few snacks and nibbles for lunch as well as the cake. We only took about an hour to buy the cake, I even decided to buy her a small box of flowers as well as I knew she loves flowers.

So when we got back to my aunts place I got s
tuck into the decorations, of blowing up the balloons and putting up the streamers. While my aunt and cousin prepared the sandwiches. Before we realised, it was almost noon and the guests would be arriving soon. Frank had taking mum shopping so she wouldn't arrive here until about 12:30pm.

A couple of my aunties arrived as well my my cousin and uncle from Malta, and as the time got closed to 12:30pm we all sat there patiently until she arrived. When she did, my aunt had closed the door so she wouldn't see the decorations and who was waiting inside, and she had a mighty shock when she walked in and everyone yelled "Surprise!" She hadn't suspected anything... not even from Wednesday when I told her I had "forgotten" something at my aunt's place. We all had a great time and the cake was awesome if I do say so myself! :-p Even my brother ended up making a guest appearance towards the end.

Slowly everyone had to leave as we all had the family farewell dinner on in the evening. Though my cousin did mention that Big W was having a big massive sale, so mum, my cousin and I decided to head over there for a quick bit. Was a good thing to, as I needed to go to the chemist and pick up some medicine for myself. We were only there for about an hour before we took off again.

Once we dropped off my cousin at my aunts place, mum and I quickly got ready for the dinner. Just about everyone within the family was meeting at Quakers Hill Inn for dinner, and what a large turnout it was. I didn't end up eating very much as I had a lot to eat during lunch, and there was still plenty of left overs. Though I guess that's how it is with a Maltese family. Enough food to feed an army!

I caught up with a lot of cousins which I hadn't seen in a while and even got to have a heart to heart chat with a couple of them. I keep joking about telling everyone that I'll be headed off to Malta shortly...and I really wish that I was sometimes.

Everyone then started to have big large group photos of all the cousins and of all the brothers and sisters (the older brothers and sisters), and we all had a good laugh and a very good time. It's a shame that not all of us could have been there, as it would have be great if everyone could have made it.

There was even a cake that was brought out for them that had said farewell uncle Leli and Nathalie. I didn't even get time to eat a piece of cake as everyone was either calling me to have a photo taken or to take a photo of what was going on! I still cannot believe that they are heading off home tomorrow... I'm really am going to miss them a lot.

Such a big day we had today, and it all went very very well. I was completely exhausted by the time I got home. So all I did when I got home was go to bed.
