Got to sleep in this morning, and after the big day that I had it was a good thing that I got to sleep in. I wasn't really looking forward to today, as my cousin and uncle were heading back home to Malta this evening and I really didn't want them to go back home. I couldn't believe that 2 months were up and that they were going back home. Jia had messaged me in the morning and told me she couldn't believe it either. I told her it felt like it had been yesterday that my cousin Nathalie told me that she was coming to Australia. Now she will be going home.
For most of the day of the day I didn't get up to a lot as I spent the rest of the morning as well as the afternoon playing Sims 3. With creating a new character, it was a little difficult trying to level up his career to what I had the original one at. I still think that the new expansion back is a little buggy, as I've even seen people comment about the game on the forums and complaining a lot. Though by this stage the character that I created had about 6 kids, one of them a set of twins. When the female Sims complain about him cheating they fall in love with him all over again... then have more kids. So it's pretty funny to watch.
At about 5pm mum had already dressed to get ready to head over to the airport, and I wasn't that far behind her until I saw that the movie 'The Sound of Music' was on. I looove that movie. It had just started as well, and I kept telling myself that I would start to get ready very soon, but in honestly I wanted to wait till the part when the father comes back and the kids are all soaked from the river then he hears them singing to the Baroness and then tells Maria to stay. I noticed even after watching it for about 20 minutes that there were some things that I noticed that I hadn't before. Maybe because it has been a while since I really seen it, and that I understand it a bit more now with the war going on in the movie.
After I got dressed and ready we headed to the airport to meet with the rest of the family who were also saying their goodbyes. On the way there I plugged in my iPod into the radio and just had a feel for Coldplay, especially songs like '42' and 'Yellow'. Couldn't help listening to a bit of Muse as well.
Got to the airport and had a quick quiet chat with Nathalie, and she mentioned that she really hated saying goodbyes. I mentioned to her that it wasn't really goodbye, it was more of a 'See you later.' As we both knew that either I would visit Malta again soon, and also she would come back as well. Especially with a lot of the family visiting Malta this year, she wouldn't have to wait too long to see one of us again. I also told her some exciting Doctor Who news that I heard earlier today. That David Tennant and Billie Piper will return to Doctor who for the 50th anniversary special. Which I am really excited about. I noticed one of the fan pages on Facebook asked the question "Do you think he'll be playing the real Doctor or the parallel universe one?" And I responded with parallel and I hope there will be little Doctor babies!
At about 9pm we started to say our goodbyes, a lot of people had tears in their eyes and my uncle basically headed off into the customs area quickly. I was sad to see them go but not upset as I knew how much they missed everyone back in Malta. When they both headed in mum and I and a few cousins who had remained stayed back to see them walk passed the glass area as they headed towards the gate. We didn't have to wait long to see them, but we also did miss them as they were behind a couple of marines and policemen who were headed towards the gates as well. We took a couple of photos and waved goodbye. I looked about the airport and it brought a smile to my face knowing that some day soon it'll be me again heading overseas.
Mum and I then headed back home listening to Coldplay again, and mum wanted to listen to 'Over the Rainbow' by Susan Boyle. It's a different style to the usual song, but it is very good as well. Once we got home I rushed in front of the TV to watch the episode of Docotor Who which had premiered this evening, and wanted to watch it before I went to bed. It was a pretty good episode. And the episodes as of late have a habbit of reminding you about other episodes, so they bring a sneaky smile to your face when you remember and realise it. After that I headed back to bed as we have a picnic on tomorrow.
