Woke up with a bit of a start this morning, as when I went to bed last night all I remember was watching a movie and not actually turning it off. So I had a bit of a puzzled look on my face for a bit as I was wondering how the TV managed to turn off on it's own without me using the sleep button.
Got to the station a little later than usual, and it was also not as full as it use to be. Rocio and I managed to even get a two seater on the train, which is where we use to sit many months ago until the train started to get pack. I wasn't really looking forward to going into work today, only because it was Thursday and tracker day. Which means that it's usually a stressful day if you haven't caught up with your emails.
When I got into work a lot of the programs which we usual use constantly wasn't work or even loading. So for about 20 minutes we kept restarting our computers or trying to log on a different way which didn't seem to be working. I actually made some progress and managed to get a screen open, when someone then started to walk up to everyone to say that we couldn't process any invoices as of yet as there was some testing going on. All I could think about was why an email wasn't sent earlier? Oh well.
Not long after this debacle, Gloria received a called from the Area Leader saying that she was running a little bit late and wanted to let her know that not only was our manager away sick today, but another guy from our team was actually in Queensland doing training. We both we kinda shocked as we hadn't heard anything. The manager also sent everyone a message saying that she wouldn't be in, but was leaving me in charge. Which I personally thought was kinda funny, as it seems as what I predicted earlier in the month was coming true. My last few weeks would seem like I was on death row and my 'last meal' was constantly getting approved. Which I personally thought it was a little funny.
We had a quick meeting, which I let everyone know which things were more important to focus on today and if we got everything that we could by 4pm we could play a small game of bingo to ease a bit of the tension that Thursdays usually give us.
I focused mainly in the morning an email that had been sitting there for a bit and decided to make it my main attention today so I could get rid of it, as it also seems like it needs a bit of work. So I was more than happen to put on my headphones and be in the zone and focus on it much more quickly.
During lunch Gloria and I with another girl at work went into the Galleries for lunch. I had to stop by EB Games as the Walking Dead game was released today and I went to pick it up. The guy behind the counter told me that he has been receiving a lot of good feedback from the game. Since it's a story telling type of game there is a lot of choices which you have to make which will shape the world about you and can have good or band consequences. He mentioned that sometimes the choices you have are both bad and you have to choose the lesser of the two evils so to speak. So I'm really looking forward to playing it.
On the way back to work we ended up bumping into Jia who just meeting Sandra for lunch, and it amazes me how relaxed and refreshed she looks since quitting a couple of weeks back. I'm so happy for her and the fact she isn't regretting her decision. It looks to have done her a world of good.
Not much happened at work in the afternoon as pretty much everyone was buckled down. At 4pm we ended up playing bingo where I was calling the numbers. The funny thing was that everyone ended up winning as they were all waiting on the same numbers. And the last number to be called was the number 13. I thought that was pretty awesome.
After work I headed straight to the shops near my place where I was meeting Rocio at Hoyts as we went to see the new Star Trek movie in 3D. Was such a fantastic movie, and I highly recommend it. It seems as though with what little knowledge I do have of Star Trek from what I have seen, I did recognise a few characters that I remember. Though it was funny when the character Captain Pike came on screen I turned to my friend and said "Hey! That's the real McCoy!" and we both kinda giggled and laugh what I said.
Now that I'm back home, I'm still feel a little hyped up and I'm tossing over whether I should read a book or weather I should watch an episode of Star Trek before falling asleep. Most likely will read a book. Just hoping it doesn't keep me awake even longer.
