7th of May 2013

Woke up at my usual time this morning, except mum had switched shifts the other day so she was doing the early shift this morning. Which usually means a race to who can use the bathroom first, or more honestly me staying in bed for another 15 more minutes until she finishes from the bathroom while I make myself a cup of coffee as well.

Met up with Rocio as per usual at the train station. It seems as though I couldn't convince her to change carriages today, but tomorrow is another day and I really would like to go back to my old carriage as a final farewell before I finish up at the end of the month. Guess for a bit of sentimental value. While we were both chatting away on the train, I honestly cannot recall even half of the conversations which we have. Though I'm pretty sure I was talking about Doctor Who again, but I was also talking about Star Trek the original series and how I started to watch that a little. Some episodes are making me a little bit confused, only for the stories of the actual character within the TV show. One episode there seems to be a love interest between two characters and within the next it's between another character.

As we got closer to Town Hall station I was scrolling through the Facebook news feeds when I noticed that EA had announced that The Sims 4 will be available for release next year. As soon as I read that I had a bit of a jump and I'm pretty sure I had a bit of hysterical fit on the train, as I retold the story to Rocio about the EB Games guy who had told me a while back that EA wouldn't release a Sims 4 because their making too much money off the Sims 3. So where ever that EB Games guy is, I hope that is recalling the exact same conversation and realising what a complete idiot he was. Honestly, if I can only remember how he looked like I would go up to him and say "I told you so!" and then walk off, but then he probably wouldn't remember the conversation. After my little outburst I waved goodbye to my friend and as I headed up the stairs to get off the train some guy stopped me and say "Hey! How's it going?" No idea who he was and only replied back with "Hey" before running off the train. Maybe he liked my little outburst? No idea!

Once I got into work I met up with Nick who's first day back from Jakarta and from training our replacements there. He loved the decorations that we had set up for him and the boss for their first day back at work in Sydney. I told him I decorated his desk and went for a Pro Hart kind of decoration, which is when he gave me a weird look as if he didn't know what I meant. Until I said "Oh Mr Hart... What a mess!" then he laughed and remembered the commercial. I also pointed out an envelope on his desk and inside a letter I had wrote addressing him as "Lord Nick" and put it into the style of one Sith talking to another Sith (Star Wars reference). Thanking him on training the new recruits to the 'Dark Side'. He loved it and said he was going to take it him. Not long after the boss walked in all flabbergasted and talked about what a wonderful time they had at Jakarta and learning new experiences.

Not long later, I received a call from a recruitment agency regarding some position which he'd like me to be interviewed for. But he mentioned that it was probably better to wait till close to the end of the month when I was made redundant instead of having an interview now. This would be more for to see how I was as a person and how my personality is, so he didn't want to waste my time about small things. Which is probably the most honest thing I have ever heard from a recruitment agency all my life! I'm very thankful for the friend of my who passed on my details to him.

At about 11am we had our meeting/morning tea to welcome them both back and they told us stories about the fun they had meeting the new recruits and how much that they are learning and so very quickly. We were also told of more coming changes that were happening, but will most likely happen within June. For most of the meeting we were shown photos of the people and told wonderful stories about them. I had a weird feeling that the reason for this is to relate to them and not to dislike them for all the changes that are happening, as it has nothing to do with the people. They had no choice in this. Which is what everyone already knows, but apparently a lot of people within the company still give the people in Jakarta a lot of grief for a lot of the mistakes which they do. Especially since we were told that their learning much more quickly than what was to be expected. Who knows though? I could be understanding this whole situation completely wrong.

When it was time for lunch, I had messages from Rocio to tell me that she managed to get tickets for The Adams Family musical, and we'll be going with her daughter and her partner in early June! So cannot wait to go and see that, it really looks to be a great show!

For the rest of the day not much happened, we found out that more people are leaving on their own terms to find more suitable to reliable jobs. So more cards where going around for people to sign and to donate a gold coin which will go towards a gift.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly, especially helping out a few suppliers who also had a lot of their invoices missed from recent payment runs, and wanted to know when their be paid. So we had to do everything manually, especially seeing more invoices coming through to us which had a lot of errors within them. This morning in one state alone I had over 200 invoices which had errors, and half of which didn't even belong to the state or to the same country!

I also ended up ordering some 50th Anniversary Doctor Who stamps from England. Weird thing is that they never gave me an ETA on when they would arrive, and also that today is apparently stamp collections day or something along those lines. I can't wait till the 25th of May when it's Towel day, to celebrate Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy!

The rest of the day when by pretty quickly, and as always very thankful when I started to head off home. Even more grateful that I had managed to get a seat on a packed train, which I thought was a little odd. When I got home we decided to do a little celebrating of our own for "No Diet Day", and had some KFC before I cuddled up within my blankets to watch me some more Star Trek! Which reminds me that there is only two more episodes left of Arrow before the send of the season. Which also means that Dexter will start soon and a whole new bunch of TV shows. I need to start writing down these shows which I need to watch!
